Capital Race Cars Enters New Era with Final Acquisition, Expanded Vision for 2026

Cedartown, GA — Capital Race Cars today proudly announces the completion of a landmark acquisition, solidifying its position as a premier late model dirt chassis manufacturer in the United States and abroad. Shane Clanton and Chad Smith, co-owners of SCCS Solutions LLC, have finalized the purchase of all remaining business assets, including the fabrication portion of the company from longtime founder Marshall Green, marking the final step in bringing the entire Capital Race Cars operation under new leadership.

Clanton and Smith’s acquisition now brings the full spectrum of design, fabrication, and distribution under one roof, and for the first time in the company’s history Marshall Green is no longer involved in the late model race car business, ending a 13-year chapter of Capital’s storied legacy.

“We are honored to carry the Capital legacy forward,” said Clanton. “With this final acquisition, we have unified the business from concept to delivery, and we’re poised for tremendous growth.” Smith added, “With full control of fabrication and design, we can accelerate developments and better serve drivers across all racing series.”

Capital Race Cars, originally co-founded by Green and Clanton, has become a household name within dirt late model racing, celebrated for high-performance chassis that have won thousands of features across the United States, Australia, and Canada including prestigious national titles and industry awards.
Clanton and Smith are heading into the 2026 racing season with new competitive partnerships and targeted chassis improvements. The focus is on enhancing small chassis design and refining performance to meet the evolving demands of drivers at every level.

In addition to expanding market presence in the U.S., the team will support its Australian customers during Speedweeks-style events at the Perth Motorplex this March, marking a significant step in international engagement and support. Clanton will join fellow Capital drivers Todd Bailey and Joe Godsey for five races over a 16-day period, his first time competing in Australia.

“We’ve had a busy offseason building cars for our domestic clients as well as shipping 2026 design builds down under,” said Clanton. “It’s definitely an exciting time for us and we are ready to get on the track.”
